Health Risk of Ingested Heavy Metals in Fluidized Canned Milks: Are We Drinking Heavy Metals?

چکیده
This study examined the heavy metal level of canned milk consumed in Calabar, Cross River State, as well health risks linked to it. Peak Milk, Three Crown, Coast, Nunu, Cowbell, and Olympic types were chosen for research. During digestion samples, 0.5 mol nitric acid was added sample heated. The heated liquid slowly with 2.5 mL 70% HClO4 until a dense white vapor formed. After cooling mixture, 10 deionized water solution boiled expel fumes. metals screened using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. All samples contained eight metals: iron (Fe), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), arsenic (As), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni). Milk Nunu both had Cd. Nickel found various quantities Olympic. Cowbell all Mn. tested positive lead. did not contain (Cu). Standard models daily consumption different metals, such Pb (3.7E − 03) (−1.8E 03), used construct risk evaluations. Cd intakes (4.5E 06), (2.2E 05), respectively. Coast (3.2E 02), (5.1E (1.9E (3.8E 02) have Ni intakes. (1.1E 01), Crown (1.6E (7.1E (1.4E 01) Ar. (6.0E 04), (8.0E (7.0E 04) Zn Daily Fe (2.4E (1.8E 01). Cu per day (4.0E (2.0E Mn total hazard index (THI) target quotient (THQ) also calculated. (1.7E (3.4E (2.8E (2.3E induced cancer risks, accordingly. According findings, drinking is relatively considerable when compared acceptable limit.

Mercury is found in the environment as elemental mercury, inorganic mercury or organic mercury (ethyl-, methyl-, alkyl-, or phenylmercury). In our environment it is present in thermometers, thermostats, dental amalgams, paint, cosmetic products, laxatives, diuretics and antiseptics. Organic mercury is the most toxic and most frequent form of mercury exposure, found in fish, poultry, pesticides ...

Metals occur naturally in the earth's crust, and their contents in the environment can vary between different regions resulting in spatial variations of background concentrations. The distribution of metals in the environment is governed by the properties of the metal and influences of environmental factors (Khlifi & Hamza-Chaffai, 2010). Of the 92 naturally occurring elements, approximately 30...

The progress of concentrations of particular heavy metals was assessed in chosen localities in region Moravia, the Czech Republic, from 2007 to 2009. Particular metals were observed in localities with various types and characterization of zone. Pb, Ni, As and Cd were emphasized as a result of their toxicity and potential adverse health effect to the exposed population. The progress of metal con...
